Open the latest edition of Encyclopedia of All That is Pizza, look up the word dependable, and you’ll see Jay’s photo next to it. Jay started out as the General Manager of our Wicker Park store. When we transitioned to teal management, Jay became the director of operations for both stores. Currently Jay is our Director of Creative Sales, focusing on all the crazy different ways we can get you pizza. Festivals, Pop-ups, catering, you name it! While his title has changed a few times, his dedication to the company and our team has remained stalwart. His years of expertise as a Pizza Jedi and all around super hard-working and cool guy has proved indispensable to the crew, who are eager to learn his magic. His dedication to the team is nothing short of inspirational.
What is the most enjoyable part of your job?
Every single person that I get to work with on a daily basis. It's also essential to have an outlet for my creativity, and PIZZA is the perfect canvas. Pepperoni being the paintbrush…
What are your interests outside of work?
I’ve been a chef for almost a decade, so I love to cook. I still find myself creating dishes at home, and exploring amazing culinary creations throughout the many corners of Chicago. I also like to consider myself a cinephile, but am recently coming to a realization that I’m just probably addicted to movie theater popcorn.
What is the “Jay Factor”?
Dad bod. Dad jeans. Dad jokes. Dad hair. Because I'm a Dad.
I’m a Jack of all trades. Master of one or two, but Pizza is my passion.
What is your favorite work-related memory?
Definitely Chicago's 1st Annual Pizza Summit. The Dimo's staff got to present the pizza-ist partier himself, Andrew W.K, with a pizza-ode to his pizza guitar that I created. What a pizza-boy’s dream come true!
Any mantras you live by?
Be considerate of others!
