We’re opening early for brunch at Dimo’s Cafe this weekend, and it’s going to be wild!

But before we get to that, let's take a quick trip down memory lane. For the sake of time, we'll call it a brief synopsis. Ready? If you’ve already heard this part, feel free to skip the next paragraph. Our feelings won’t be hurt. 

We started slinging slices in our beloved Wrigleyville in 2008. Shortly after, in 2013, we expanded to a new neighborhood, keeping the late night partiers and hungry bar goers fed in Wicker Park. In 2016, the Cubs won the World Series, inspiring us to go bigger and expand further. We opened in Dr. Murphy’s Food Hall downtown in 2020 and three years later, when Dr. Murphy’s closed its doors, we found a chance to debut our café concept at Revival Food Hall. Then—finally!—Dimo's Café in Lincoln Square opened its doors.

There. Dimo's history, summarized. 

If you thought we were done, you'd be mistaken. We’ve never been the types to be satisfied with what we’ve done so far; we’re always on the hunt for the next project to dig into with our flour-coated hands. Dimo's is never, ever done doing cool shit, got it? You may be asking yourself: what’s next? What crazy concoctions could your favorite neighborhood pizza joint have whipped up this time? Trust us, it's as exciting as you think it's going to be.

We've got brunch on the horizon!

Everyone’s favorite portmanteau is coming to Dimo’s Café in Lincoln Square and we can’t wait for all of you to experience it with us. At this point, you could say we're a jack-of-all-trades. (We’ll also accept ‘triple threat.’) Got more compliments? Keep ‘em coming. 

Who, exactly is the brain behind this menu, you may ask? It's none other than our creative genius in the kitchen, Steve Hofstad. Steve hails from the cook line, and has been kicking it with us since 2013. Like many of our tenured employees, the Dimo’s message and mission is why Steve has stuck around. He’s been heavily involved in all of our creative processes. As a matter of fact, many of the pizzas you know and love have been plucked from Steve’s brain and presented to you on a 20” silver platter. Over the past several months, he’s developed, tested, and tasted a full brunch menu, complete with donuts, pizzettes, yummy egg dishes, and so much more. We’re telling you, that man worked overtime to deliver this deliciousness (and we are forever grateful for him). Let's take a deeper dive into these delicacies, shall we?

Pizzettes

Pizzettes, for everyone wondering, are miniature pizzas. Yes, they’re as cute as they sound. Four flavors made it to the final round: shakshuka, khachapuri, avocado toast,and speck.

Shakshuka: spiced tomato sauce, eggs and crumbled feta

Khachapuri: our house breakfast cheese blend, plenty of herbs, and an over easy egg

Avocado Toast: smashed avocado and fresh sliced heirloom tomatoes topped with fresno chiles and dukkah

The Speck: freshly shaved speck, red eye gravy and chow chow relish

Our donuts feature flavors as unique as our pizzas.

A Well Balanced Meal 

Rounding out our brunch menu are some new, never before seen dishes that feature ingredients you know and love. Whether you’re looking to starch it up or are in a lighter mood, we’ve got you covered.

Breakfast Potatoes: rosemary, garlic, and salsa brava

Yogurt Bowl: seasonal fruit and housemade granola

Tortilla Oso: Boursin cheese, gaufrette chips, roasted red peppers, and arugula

As you can see, we've got some egg-citing (ha, get it?) things for you to try.  

But that’s not all! Alongside Steve’s mastery, the crew at the Café in Lincoln Square have been hustling to bring you brunch’s BFF: cocktails. Spearheaded by the store mentor Patrick Bourne, we’ve got a number of new libations on the menu. You could sip on a classic Bloody Mary or let your tastebuds try something out of the ordinary—coconut rum, guava, ginger, or gochujang pineapple juice, anyone? We’ve even got a mocktail for sober folks: melon with a pinch of salt. 

If you can’t tell yet, we're beyond excited to share this menu with you. It's a display of our hard work, our creativity, and our never ending search for what's next. We really hope you'll join us. 

Brunch begins Saturday, August 19th at 8am and will run every Saturday and Sunday until 1pm at Dimo’s Cafe, 4647 N Lincoln Ave
