Yep, you read that right. 

This Wednesday, August 28th, we’re celebrating us, by celebrating pizza, by celebrating pizza-eaters, which means you! 

What’s the occasion, you ask? It’s just our birthday, NBD. While our Wicker Park location is a feisty 6 year old (and yes, still smearing jam everywhere), our Wrigleyville location is a cool 11. All told, that’s just over 4,000 days of ‘za, and quite a few more than 1,000,000 pizza pies. You make us blush!

As our party, we’re throwing back to a time-honored Dimo’s birthday party: the dollar slice day. But the older we get, the more we know—so we know that while our ‘za may be tried and true, we still gotta bring the thunder. 

This year, not only are we offering $2 slices of all the usuals, we invented a whole new pie for the occasion. This take on our classic White Pie is still loaded with creme fraiche, garlic, and fresh mozzarella. But it rockets up the flavor scale with oven-crisped prosciutto, broccoli rabe, a savory-sweet balsamic fig sauce, and Calabrian chili oil to bring the heat. Talk about “Mangiamo!” 

To top it all off, we’re dunking Pretty Cool Ice Cream bars in Not Your Father’s root beer to create swoon-worthy boozy root beer floats. Pizza and ice cream: a classic birthday combo. And a gorgeous (gluten-free!) artisan ice cream bar plus rich, sweet malt beverage? Iconic. Nostalgic. Terrific. All the -ics. 

Our birthday bash will be all day, from 11am to midnight on Wednesday the 28th. You can come by either location (or both) for slices, or to pick up a 12” specialty pie (hey, why not both?). Sadly, only our Wicker Park location will be spiking the floats, but you can guzzle a non-alcoholic float at either location. While not required, birthday hats are a nice addition. We can’t wait to see you!
