Have you ever wondered why you get up in the morning?

There’s the obvious biological reason, to reproduce, but that probably gets lost for most of us in the day to day struggle of life. Usually, there’s something more that propels us. We’ve always felt it. And if you’ve read any of the materials we’ve put into the world in the last couple of years, you probably know this already. At Dimo’s, we do what we do for a very specific reason. 

In fact, we happen to think that no matter what you do, you should do a damn fine job of it. The Reverend MLK Jr. said it pretty well, “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.’” Though we are also excellent sweepers, we’re not trading in our pizza slicers for brooms, but we are thinking far beyond just making pizza.

And to think beyond pizza and not share it would serve to undermine our entire existence. Sure, you’ve probably felt it, but we've got to state it explicitly! Remember when we told you we’d be working on Evolutionary Purpose, Self-Management, and Wholeness? Well, we started with Evolutionary Purpose and the first thing we did was state in explicit terms what we stand for. We defined our mission statement and we’re pretty proud of it. So, without further adieu, here is the reason we get up in the morning.

"Dimo's exists as a for-profit hospitality organization that champions unity, development and justice for our guests, our team and our communities in order to lead the charge in creating a positive, long-lasting impact."

And there it is. It was a group effort, open to all in the organization, and it took us a lot of time, thought, and reflection. Bringing together our team from all walks of life to put into concrete words what so many of us live every day was not easy. We fought and we argued, but only because we care. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created. And now, we’re going to live it, for everyone, through every slice, every single day.
