We’re always making friends—don’t worry, this includes you of course—at other restaurants, in non-profit organizations, and everywhere we deliver pizza or work toward our mission of unity and justice.

So we were happy  to find we’d made another friend when Bre Smith DM’ed us on Instagram. We met Bre when she was helping to coordinate the incredibly important effort to feed frontline workers, and it was an instant match.

Like us, Bre cares a lot about art and education. So when we started brainstorming nonprofits and causes we could support with her, she immediately thought of We All Live Here, a local Chicago organization which works with Chicago Public Schools to use art, community, and technology towards the common goal of getting along and helping each other succeed.

As we’ve done in the past, we began planning to host We All Live Here on our menu as an item, and our customers could choose to add the item to their cart, donating to the organization through us. But, being a group of artists, art-minded people, and art supporters, we all felt like an artistic element to the collaboration would complete it. What better way to incorporate art than on a pizza box?

Bre got to work designing a super cool print that merged our interests and mantras, and Rich Alapack of We All Live Here offered the organization’s studio space near the Ohio Street bridge as a temporary screenprinting studio. Naturally, we brought pizza.

After a night of art-making, fun, and friendship that took us back to the good old pre-pandemic age, we’ve got a ton of beautiful pizza box art. Each one is unique, thanks to Bre’s hand-painted additions to the screen printed designs. And each one can live on your wall—or hold a bunch of your knick-knacks, we won’t mind—as a reminder of the fun and friendship that kids feel when they make art, and that you’ve supported. Thank you!
