The spring transformation is in full swing, so we thought we’d throw a little extra light into the mix and see what blossomed. Our mission is now public, and we’ve had some time to get used to it.  The creation of our mission is but the beginning, the journey and how we live its life. To make it real, we must give it our all, for anything worth doing, is worth doing right. 

But realizing our mission is more than just putting in hard work, it’s also about having the right people. And the right people are ones that have the ability to work worry-free, with their mind on the task at hand, not on their very survival. To ensure they are worry-free, we must pay a wage and provide benefits that take care of their basic needs and allows them to thrive.

We’ve always been public advocates of a fair wage and so naturally, we pay one. But having a starting point as a fair wage is just that, a starting point. As team members learn new skills in areas they naturally excel in, raises must continue. In order to attract and keep the best employees, we also offer health, dental, and vision insurance, profit-sharing bonuses, a 401k retirement plan, and paid time off.

We like to think of ourselves as an institution for learning. To do so isn’t cheap and we’ve functioned as such for the past eight years, though it hasn’t been easy. We raised our prices once in 2014 and for us to continue to offer what we do to our team, we must do so again. Starting May 2nd, you might notice some small adjustments. These adjustments will allow us to keep our compensation and benefits rising and carry on in our mission.  

Seeing as it’s election season, it’s an appropriate reminder that whether you vote in the primary or plan to do so in the general election, you still vote everyday with your dollar. Even though we would cringe at anyone thinking Dimo’s is just a place to grab some pizza, where you spend your money matters. We hope what we do and why we do it means something to you, it does to us. We appreciate you.
