For those of you that have been here for awhile, you know that we champion the creative spirit of our staff, allowing them to leave their mark on our menu (and on our hearts, for those of them that have gone on to other adventures). You see it in our pizzas all the time, from the GMO — that's garlic, mushroom and onion, if you didn't know — at our Wicker Park store to to the reverse margherita and infamous four cheese and three meat slice that meets you at the finish line of your bar crawl in Wrigleyville. Our latest passing of the creative baton is in our Dimo's Café drink menu. Frank, the mastermind behind our newest additions, has whipped up a handful of new drinks suited for even the pickiest (or most sober) of drinkers.

We won't spoil the whole menu, because where's the fun in that? What we can do is give you a little sneak peak. A teaser if you will. Dare we say ... a taste. 

We'll start off strong, and I mean strong. Fist clenching strong. Lips puckering strong. "Jesus Christ what did you just give me??" strong. I'm talking Chicago classic, strong. None other than Jeppson's Malort, strong. Luckily, it's a bit more balanced than a single shot of the good stuff. A new signature cocktail, Your Bitter Ex , has notes of grapefruit, orange, and gin and is perfect for when you want to reminisce on a night out at a dive bar, but have to be somewhere early the next morning. 

A close second in this category of drinks that make you tilt you head and ask yourself, "Am I sure about this?" is the Hot Frank. When you ask Frank, the bartender that created this one, for clarification, they'll smile and say, "It's a hot wing in a glass!". And that, folks, is all you get on this one. 

"But, Dimo's blog writer, what if I don't drink?"

Don't worry, we've got you covered, too. Trixie's Treat, The Blushing Lime, and Slow it Down are mixed with all the stuff you love and none of the stuff you don't. All good things truly do come in threes. 

So, there you have it, folks. A preview of the lastest and greatest Dimo's Café creations. 

As for the rest of the new cocktails on our menu, you'll have to make your way through the slush and sleet and have a seat at our bar. We'll keep them nice and warm for you.
